Lamson Konic's On Sale

Postby WanderingBlues » August 21st, 2012, 10:31 am

Cabela's has a heck of a deal right now with $50 off. I've had the 1.5 for about 3 seasons now. Great reel at full price, even better at this price. I've used it from 3-5wt and have no complaints.

Almost ready to pull the trigger on the big one......just not sure if I need ANOTHER reel!
thinking about it for a salty setup?
Is it easy to clean?

As Brian said....

You really can't gum them up. Very simple to maintain and the drag sytem should do you great for saltwater applications.

Bob, they are easy to clean. They have a sealed drag, so nothing bad(saltwater & debris)should get in there. Just be sure to leave the reel assembled when you rinse and clean it. Popping the spool off exposes the sealed components, and moisture/grit getting in there can cause a problem.

Very easy to maintain. The system is sealed well and the drag design makes any maintenance a breeze. For a saltwater rig, it would be awesome.

Not to mention free shipping with my Cabelas Visa, and 80.00 in unspent Cabelas Bucks, that puppy was only going to cost me 19.00!

Bump!

Hey look what UPS just brought me...

Been messing around with it in the back yard and it is a great reel for the money. I will be using my 3wt a lot more when things cool down.

Now the good news,
If you guys missed it looks like Cabela's got some more

That's a great deal! I have 3 Lamsons with sealed drags. They really help in the salt, or when the dust flies on windy days.
Set the hook!

So it WAS you!
Cabelas told me some guy named Terry beat me to the punch!

That is the Model 4, I was looking for the 3.5.
The 4 is way too big for anything I have.

Hey is that the Hook & Hackle 3wt that they have been advertising?
How do you like it?

UPDATE:

What the heck it's only a .2" diff on diameter and .03" on width!
I bought it anyway!

Thanks for the link Terry!

Bob - sorry but you snooze you lose. No, kidding (but not really) the main reason I put up the photo was because it was back in stock, all three sizes. Now 2 hours later the small one is gone, the 3.5 and 4 are still there. You guys gotta be quick.

Yep it is the finished Xi 3wt, killer sale as well. Only been to the bluegill pond so far. I own the 2wt (2 one broke) and use it all the time, this is just a little bigger version, I like it.

EDIT 9/8/12 they are here too... http://www.sierratradingpost.com/fishing-reels~d~188/

Congrats all around! It really is a work horse reel, especially for the $$$. I slipped and fell on mine and bent the spool. Of course, it created a nasty flat spot. Being pot metal, I was worried I would not be able to straighten it. Nonetheless, I bent it back with my hemostats and fine tuned it until it was smooth again. That was 2 years ago and it still works great. It's the jeep of reels.

When I checked the link, all that was left was the 4!

I have been drooling over that 3wt for some time, I have a lot of H&H products and no complaints here.
I have built a few of their older kits, and was really happy with the performance.

Thanks Curtis, I am looking forward to spooling it up and taking it for a spin!
And for what its worth, pressure casting is pretty top grade stuff!
