Entomologist Needed- not fly fishing

I just found the coolest bug. This is an infestation! The bug has a blunt tail with a single spike and spikes that run down either side of it's back. A group of 6 and than 4 nearer the head. The color is brown with black markings. the bottom is flat. The top is crowned, and it has spikes on it's back in what look like little clusters. They were found in a garden in Los Angeles. The person said they had infested the chili peppers as well.

Um, wow! That's a crazy looking critter. With all the spikes it has on it, you wouldn't even need a hook to get a fish.

wow , that's one icky looking bug. I think that I am going to have nightmares about that one.
