First Issue of The Fly Fisher magazine

Postby Benny » October 4th, 2012, 2:13 pm

I don't have much to contribute since I hardly ever get out on the water anymore. Other priorities have pretty much left me high and dry and away from one of my favorite pass times. I still come on the forum and read a quick report or two. For the most part have little to contribute and my time seems so limited as of late.

My girlfriend has an old friend who back in his heyday was an avid fly fisher. The old timer has been giving away lots of his old fly fishing magazines to my girlfriend. I was going through a few and found one in particular to be very interesting. It turned out to be the very first issue put out by the Federation of Fly Fishers in Spring of 1968. She said I could have it if I wanted it, sure I said. Well I took a few quick photos for show and tell so to speak. I know it's not a spectacular report filled with beautiful scenery and the average grip and grin shot of our local fish population, but it's all I've got for now.

Hope you enjoy this a little blast from the past.

That's a pretty neat keepsake. I'd frame and mat it.

Great post Benny, good to hear from you.
It does not always have to be about catching fish.

Sometimes life can get in the way of the things we really want to do, but safe to say, it is typically these things in life that afford us the opportunities, take it all in stride, and think of the rewards to had.
