I love all things bird-of-prey related.
Juvenile eagles can throw one a curve ball due to coloration and size so I like that suggestion. I've seen a juvenile condor and it was much larger than a turkey vulture. That was the giveaway.
All that said, FishFreak911's stellar analysis won my vote. Neat thread.

If this happens again I'll spend more time filming the bird and more close ups. It was fantastic just to stand that close to the bird. And by the way it was about 24" not 36" tall.

Just wanted to say that I was in a desert field today in Kingman, Az. around dusk and saw an incoming raptor about 40' in the air flying towards me. He landed on a nearby power pole and I was able to get a VERY good look at my first confirmed Prairie Falcon sighting! Stoked! I am positive of the ID.
