If we give him a helmut, do we have to worry about him licking the windows? Will we only be able to take him fishing with the short bus?
Just kidding Bob. Hope you :comfort: soon.
I fish for my sanity. If I catch it, should I still practice catch and release?

Bummer. Post Concussive symptoms lasted a couple weeks for me and then sort of trail off... not like one day just gets cured, but a little less over time until eventually you notice it is "gone".

Take care. Rest (best you can). and be careful with your noggin, it is the only one you've got.
Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables.

Bob-O, hope you ride it out okay. I might even suggest going ahead and getting a CT scan, especially if you can work it through insurance where you don't get charged an arm and a leg. Just something to consider. Small price to pay to have a bit of comfort that all is good in the noggin'.

I had a pretty nasty concussion when I tried to learn how to snowboard on the icy slopes at Big Bear. It didn't help that I passed out in the parking lot post crash and hit my head AGAIN on the asphalt. When I started throwing up, they hauled me off to the ER. All was okay, but it was finals week, and I had to take three of my finals with a messed up head. That wasn't fun.

I had one fall a few weeks ago with my old worn down vibram boots I was telling you about, and I * near broke my wrist. Falling backwards and putting your arms back to brace the fall is an easy way to snap a bone, especially when you're as big as I am. Told myself to stop being so stingy and go get new boots. The Patagonia's worked awesome their first time out and it sure felt good to stand up right again on the water. And that was without the studs. It's their own material, I believe, so not exactly Vibram.

If anyone is a size 10 (sized to fit booties and thick socks, so a true size 11-11.5), they have them on sale: http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/roc ... 9325-1-984

Or maybe a pair of these :D : http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/riv ... 9195-0-775

Not good. Wish I had been there. You would have been taken for care immediately - no questions asked. You'll get through it. Glad you're alive to talk about it openly.

Bob, I'm pleased to hear you're on the road to recovery. I was shocked to read your report as I didn't think that anyone as hard headed as Flybob ;) ;) could get a concussion......just goes to show. Get well quickly and return to the scene of the crime and show that rock who really won the round.
