2008. What did you lose while fishing

Postby fflutterffly » December 25th, 2008, 7:58 am

Once again we have the misfortune of telling the truth about the river. It usually takes things like fly boxes, sometimes rods, and in last years column I lost: 2 walking staffs and my beloved Pentax Optio W30. At least it's water proof. so if anyone finds it the thing will still be useful.
Resolutions for 2009:
Save up for a new camera
make sure all my equipment hooks actually work!
Go fishing with more of my friends from the forum.

Ariel,
FYI, I use a zinger even on my Optio! Bob can vouch for that one on this hilarious video I shot helping him net a fish...I forgot all about the camera and it was just dangling around dipping into the water...

I broke a rod this year...

My $110 dollar pair of sunglasses, after making fun of Zee for losing his while fishing. Must have had something to do with Karma.

Lost a few items poorly attached to the vest and one very full fly box. However, the last year will end with the gains highly out weighing the losses. Fly fishing brought new friends, new knowledge, and a whole bunch of great memories. Looking forward to the upcoming new year.

2 pairs of Hemostats. 1 net. God only knows how many flies.

Was it worth it: You betcha!
Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables.

Yeah, I've still not located that box Benny. Everytime I am out there, well almost, I think about there being a gold mine of a nymph box hidden in the willows, somehow having escaped the high water flows of summer.
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

In reality, it is most likely stuck in the mud near Troutinator's house in Lemoore.
