Busted Butt Creek......The Epilog

Postby flybob » December 19th, 2012, 5:00 pm

Hey Gang, first off I just want to shout out a big THANK YOU for all the well wishes and PMs I received regarding my hiatus/recovery. The fog has lifted, and I am once again feeling my same OLD obnoxious self, a good feeling to be sure! It is amazing that you can actually be aware of the strange feelings, and cannot do anything about it!
I do not want to ever go there again, that was my first, and I pray, my last concussion.

I must say that since my fall, I have been ever so wary in all that I do. Just getting on the ladder to hang the Christmas lights on the house was an adventure. I have come to realize that with age comes frailty and caution. I do not bounce as good as I used to!

Mark took me out a couple of weeks ago on a re-training mission, I had for the first time ever on the local creeks, taken my hiking staff...AND I USED IT! It seemed that every step I took was calculated, even though we covered quite a bit of ground, the day seemed to move in slow motion.
It was a good day until I had another mishap with ANOTHER pair of SIMMS boots....but I will leave that story for another post. Safe to say, my stick saved my trek out.

It has been, what seems like an eternity since I last logged on, I see I have missed quite a bit. But as they say, the show goes on.

I will spend some time catching up on older posts, and try to put up a couple of my own.

As we near that most special day of the year, I just want to wish the very best to all of you and your families.
And thanks again for being a very special caring group of people!
I am honored to have met those of you that I have, and look forward to one day meeting those I have not.

Cheers BOND

Um, those strange feelings wouldn't include an unnatural attraction to marmots, would it?

Glad to see you feeling better! Jon

Bob - glad to hear you are feeling better and getting back out on the water.

Bob,
Glad you’re getting back on water. Have you found a flyfishing specific hard hat? LOLO As far as the Cain err walking stick/wading staff, I have been using one for years on most waters especially when I wear my old worn-out rubber sole wading boot. It also comes in handy when bush whacking your own trail.

Actually, Bob concussed just so he could experience life seeing what it's like not to be Bob. It was so un-Bobbish, he willed himself to recover and return to his normal state.

Seriously, Bob, I'm glad you are good to go. Your presence has been greatly missed. Happy Holidays my friend.

How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.
