Lots of great folks who love to ff. I too look fwd to seeing pics from your neck of the woods. My sis lives in University Place near Tacoma, and I have a bro in Pewallyup. I love it up there, but not all the rain!

I try to get out to the lakes around our area, I have a few that I have been working on.
I have been gearing up for the rivers in our area, fly fishing is new to me i've been tying now for about 2 years or better, casting still getting that down.
The rivers up here offer good challenges, in my early years the Skagit River gave up fine cutthroat at the end of a trout rod not to mention Jack Salmon and Steelhead, the biggest Steelhead I ever caught was a 20lb buck and that size has eluded me since.
Back then I could'nt get the hang of fly fishing but as the years progressed it seemed to make more sense.
So that brings us to presant day searching and fullfilling the dreams of childhood, and having memories to share with grandkids.

I'm also new to the site but I'm coming at you from western OK where we are the opposite of wet. Terrible drought conditions with rivers of sand and reservoirs shrinking alarmingly. I do have a trip planned to Washington state for next year if all goes well. I have a niece and husband who live right near the DeChutes River if I've spelled that right. 'Course they live near the river even if I've spelled it wrong. I have an invite to go out there and fish some steelhead and would sure like to make it work out.

So welcome from another newbie and hope your fishing goes well. Fly fishing is a therapeutic experience for the most part. And catching them on your own ties always makes it more special.
