I'm back!!

Postby Barrie Mann » January 3rd, 2013, 10:06 am

It’s been two months and one day since the surgeon replaced the Aortic Valve in my heart and when he did he told me I wouldn’t be able to fish for at least 3 months. However I’ve been feeling pretty good lately and the cabin fever had me so frustrated that this morning I decided I would fish. Getting up a little earlier I put waders and fly rod and flies in the car and drove to the Mosquito Lagoon ( now considered by me to be my home waters) I put the waders on rigged the rod and hiked in to fish one of my favourite flats. I fished it strong for about 3 hours. I’d like to tell you I slayed em, but the truth is I didn’t get a bump even. Yes a total skunk, but it didn’t matter I was back on the water fishing. I’m back and life is looking better. :bananadance:

As a newcomer who didn't know of your surgery, it's good to hear all went well. I have also been in a position where I didn't get to do something I love, and must sooner than the doc gave the okay I was back on the motorcycle and heading from MN to AR. Being deprived of things we love by health is always a downer but it just makes getting back to be able to do those things that muc better.

Glad the trip was so invigorating for you, but you'd think a few fish would have cooperated just to make it more fun.

SWEET! Glad to see your on the mend. Just don't over do it. Stick with catching bait for now. Later you can target the Trophies that'll test your ticker.

I fish for my sanity. If I catch it, should I still practice catch and release?

Welcome back Barrie. Glad to hear that you've healed up enough to get out fishing again. Don't worry, I have no doubt that the catching will come pretty soon.

Glad I didn't dissapoint you by not returning to sunny Cal Jon. As for no pics on the report well it's pretty simple even for you to understand - No fish = No pics :deadhorse:

But without a fish in the picture it might not be the same. Glad you're back onthe water Barrie.
