Good tip! Did that last week. Went from catching fish to feeling tugs but never a fish. Only took me 20 casts to check it and see I had broken off the tip completely on the last tree snag.

I think we are all guilty of this at some time or another. It happened to me last week. I was catching them pretty good and then I lost 2 fish in a row. It finally occured to me to check the hook and sure enough mine was snapped off at the upper portion of the bend much like yours, but the rest of the fly was still perfect.
