Putting my spey rod to some casting

Postby Ming Moua » July 7th, 2014, 6:08 pm

My spey setup has been put to use very little every year...I usually get to use it during winter steelhead in NorCAl and hopefully during OCT or Nov on the Deschutes this year if all goes well...So with the higher release on the local river it was ideal to take the spey rod out for a couple of hours of casting and just happen to make a short clip of the perry poke cast..

Really good job on the video. I can't even guess how many spey casting vids I've watched, but it's a LOT. Yours does a very good job showing the cast. One of the better videos showing anchor placement.

I'm using the poke more and more. It doesn't seem to be as popular as the Snap T/C, but I think it's a powerful, effective cast.

Cool video. I know nothing about Spey, but it was interesting to watch your presentation. You made it look very easy, but I'm sure there are a ton of details that make it difficult.

Thanks Brian... it's not the best but something to keep me busy when I can't get out to fish...LOL....
Your right the perrypoke is not as popular as the Snap T/C, I guess most people that get in to the double hander will usually start with the Snap T/C...and most casting instructors will start off teaching their students with it to...The perry poke on the other hand takes quite of a bit of practice to get use to the anchor placement SET.....
