Building a Tilapia Farm

Postby midger » November 17th, 2014, 2:34 pm

So I'm sitting here in SoCal building a flyrod for a friend who just retired from FedEx. No fishing just thinking about fishing which hopefully I'll get to do next week on the Owyhee. Anyway, I take a break between wrapping each guide, get coffee or a soda, surf the net, yada, yada. No hurry to complete the rod, but in my surfing I came across this on another site and I found it pretty cool that a flyfishing community would come together to do this over in Thailand and elsewhere. I plan on checking into this organization some more, but it sure appears to be an interesting concept and they're doing a good job IMHO.

Is anyone familiar with the organization? There is a lot more info on the organizational site.

Here's a link to the trip report on Westfly along with links to the organization that funded the project in Thailand:

I posted a video of Fly Fishing Collaborative a while back.

Looks like a very worthy cause.

Brian,
Sorry I missed your post. You're right though, it does appear to be a pretty noble effort, and I like the way they've banded together to raise the money to build the "farms".
