That's awesome. What a great thing to see. Hope it stays there forever, unmolested.

I flew my Dad's ashes to the ridge above Wrightwood on a stormy January day in 1974. We had only been in Wrightwood for two years and he had always said that we should scatter him across his beloved Blue Ridge. We took off from El Mirage Dry lake in a Piper Cub tow plane from the Glider port. My pilot was a Air Force Weasel pilot but our little prop plane barely had the juice to fly up to the 9,000 foot mark. I also didn't know the secret to scattering ashes and when the time came as we bounced along above the ridge, I found the * filling with fine dust as we motored along. I got a good majority out of the bag and on the ground he revered. I see that same ridge every morning from our ranch and remember the wild and turbulent ride in the middle of a snow storm. My Mom was waiting outside their cabin and we wagged the wings to tell her mission complete.

I think the urn is pretty cool. I'll share my wishes with my family.

Thank you for sharing. I lost my mother earlier this year and her ashes are in an urn at the family house in San Diego - for now. Although something like this would not suit her, I think this is great and I am sure it suited the person perfectly. Thanks for sharing ...

Very Cool. I have asked that my ashes be spread across several drainages.

Really cool! 68 is far too young though.

This was partially hidden above a friend's favorite place to fish. Still think about him often.

Same here.

Although knowing my friends, they'll dump it into the LA River and call it a day.
