This is why I now de-barb before a fly ever enters the box. Actually, I now de-barb before I even put one in the vise.

I debarb before I put my hooks in the vise too - I've never understood why people don't do that. In fact, I thought maybe I was missing something. Perhaps there is a trout destination where catch and release is really bad form or something.
