God Bless All Here!

Hello all, recognize many from another place :?

Been flogging the water with a flies and streamers for a year now, much more since June this summer. I'm in north Florida so mostly catching lmb, bluegill ,shellcracker, and trouts (spotted sea trout) and redfish on the coast.

Was out on the Kern a little more than a year ago now and fell in love with the place. Had hoped to make the rendevouz, but work and family are keeping me here.

Look forward to meeting some of you in the future and sharing some water.

Dude, you're in Florida? We are hopefully coming out that way next year some time (during summer vacation) for some Disneyworld action while my oldest still enjoys being seen with us (she's going to be 10 next year, I figured I can't wait much longer). I really want to put a day or so on the water out there and don't even know where to start. The flats? The 'glades for bass? Peacocks? The possibilities flat out confuse me and I don't know what to choose. Any ideas? Probably looking at a guided day, or at least half day.

kinda like CA, FL is a long state, can take awhile to get to stuff. If money isn't too much of an issue, hire a guide to put you on bass right on the property. The Magic Kingdom is built on a series of lakes...they had to dredge to get the fill to make dry land, the whole thing was a swamp. There are huge bass right there on property, I'm talking 10lbs plus. The local lakes just outside the park also produce big bass, no need to head down to the everglades.

There is great flats fishing in the Indian River Lagoon about 45 mins east on the coast around Cocoa Beach/ Melbourne. Reds and Trout, as well as snook, some Tarpon, etc.

For Peacocks, their northern most limit in Florida is Palm Beach, any further North and their is a die off every couple of years because of cold snaps. You would need to get down to Miami for the best of it (about 4 hrs away)

If you want a lifetime kinda thing to do check this out

they have guided trips for Barramundi, an Australian cousin to snook. They are farm raised for food in nearby Osceola, about 20 mins from Disney. They are supposedly absolutely sick on fly. If you go on youtube and keyword it, you will find some really cool videos of people that have gone. I am hoping to get down there at some point. But you need some hard core guys to go. it is $800 for 4 people for 4 hrs ($200/person) but supposedly it is non stop action.

let me know when you finalize your plans, I might be able to sneak down there for a day.

Mike
