Weather records??

Does any one know of a website that collects and keeps records of weather? For example if I want to know what the weather was Jul 16th 2002 etc....
A buddy of mine asked me and I looked but didn't find any. He said that the Farmers Almanac wasn't that detailed, so we are looking for one that will tell us if it rained on a certain day and how much... what the wind force and barometric pressure was on that particular date.
