I looks like it has potential. We'll see. I do know when I was in Montana last week they talked about the movie and were hoping that it would have an effect similar to a river runs though it. When I asked the guides why they mentioned that their was less interest in the sport especially with the younger crowd and they hoped it would give the industry a boost. I guess I can see that, even though I think there's already enough people on the rivers and lakes.

There was a screening for the film back on April 23 at the Newport Beach Film Festival. The next California screening will be October 7-10 at the Mill Valley Film Festival. Hopefully this film goes straight to video as an independent film and never makes it to movie theaters. I for one think there are way to many people crowding the waters as it is

The book was a fly fishing cult favorite. Hopefully the movie will be half as good. Looking forward to seeing it.

A little background on this film and the why it is not endorsed by the author James David Duncan...

It appears that this product still does not have a distributor...hence, the repeated appearances at mostly obscure film festivals...

The book was good, maybe even great, but it had its slow parts. He did hook me with the girl. At one point I almost stopped reading out of anger when I thought... well I won't spoil it for others. I think I'll avoid seeing the film. Looks kind of crappy and just from the trailer I know it doesn't do the book justice, at least not the way it was in my head when I read it.

My feelings exactly!Besides im sure those shows on Animal Planet have boosted morons intentions to go out buy a rod at wal mart without a license of course :kissbutt: and un knowingly create more promblems at damaged fishery.Face it there are going to be alot more illresponsable anglers out there the way some networks have been dishing out fishingshows like its in style or something?Heres the way I see it some of these shows although attempt to raise awareness about c&r how the decline of fish population around the world la,la,la but,yet in reality do you really think big t.v networks care about creating a high fish population in a stream?Or care more about higher viewer ratings? Hmm,Or it might a clever marketing attempt by a huge fishing retailer (b.p.s)ugh! to boost sales  Great! But whats the cost in the end.More crowded fishing holes with less fish period. Just some long term brain candy for you real anglers out there :rockon:sorry about the rant cool trailer except for running downstream that was ugh!And she was tasty i would :ugeek:
