Staying in Bishop

If you're like me I like to sleep in a clean bed and wake to an included breakfast for the rate. In my opinion one of the best deals is La Quinta on the main drag. Arti Patel is the manager and she keeps everything on line. Though a bit pricey this time of year, during the off season you can get the rooms for around 65.00. Most impressive is the breakfast offerings. Karen and I figure we can save about $15.00 on breakfast ( of course you can do better at Denny's with the 2/4/6) for the two of us and another $10.00 for lunch all because of the Belgian Waffles, yogurt, hard boil eggs, bagels and cream cheese, coffee, tea, juice and hot or cold cerials w/ milk. Now you can have as much as you'd like. Get this: they also have those little containers of peanut butter, jelly and bread. So we make our own sandwiches for the day on the water. That brings an $80.00 room in high season down to just $55.00 for the room, which is really nice, clean, has internet/t.v./ working showers with great water flow and usually very quiet. You can also get rooms with fridg and micro saving again on dinners if you shop at Vons or bring your own.

I know there are cheeper hotels but when you factor in the eats!.... let me know if there are better.

I agree Ariel, La Quinta is a great place to stay. I just need to convince Sherry of the savings you can gain by staying there.

I don't think there is a more reasonable clean motel in town other then Creekside and it's even pricier. I joined their La Quinta club and get a discount when I stay. I like it for the same reasons.

I've enjoyed the Holiday Inn Express. We usually get a room w/2 beds for $60-$80 with my discount and the breakfast is very good as well. Particularly like the biscuits and gravy. Plus, you can walk across the street to Schaat's.
