A Friendly Reminder

Postby WanderingBlues » April 17th, 2011, 11:59 am

When I was out with Treecatcher a couple of weeks ago, I discovered my water filter system had disengaged from the straw. This was after I had consumed several long drinks. Long story short, I'm at Kaiser typing on my Droid as I wait for some giardia medication. Be careful out there. On the bright side, I've lost 8#'s so far!

Dude!!! What a bummer. I've drank so many times from streams and never got it. I'm going to be more careful. Hope you feel better.

Since I get intestinal bugs every chance I get, I feel your pain. I now carry Flagyl with me at all times.
Unfortunately, I don't endorse this way as a weight loss program!!!

Hope you get well soon! Easy to have this happen even when you try to take precautions.

Which creek and how much did you need to drink?
Denny Crane: Ah. You can see them in there. Look at the crystal clear water. My fly went right by his nose. Eat it you picky *.

I feel for you! Live and learn

10 years ago, I was hiking San Gorgonio and I ran out out water coming back. I filled the water bottle with stream water and spent the night at the ER

People pay good money for holistic cleanses, try some stagnate stream water that'll clean you out.

Curtis

Loosing the 8 pounds is good but not that way.

Get better soon.

The hardest part was missing out on a rugby BBQ Saturday. We had a whole roasted pig, Fijian curried rice, yellowfin tuna on the grill..... I was able to eat a 1/2 a bowl of plain white rice. With this medication (Flagyl) I can't even enjoy a beer for the next two weeks unless I want to see what the Doc described as 'projectile vomiting.' But, hey, "Sh!+ happens, pun intended.

Sorry to hear that. :fart: ;)

My buddies will drink right from the river, but I won't. If there is one giardia atom in the whole river, it will find a way into my stomach.

Dude, I am sorry to hear that!
You better have them check for chemies too, the pot growers have been using industrial strength pesticides that have been banned in this country for decades! SERIOUSLY!

The biologists have been finding residuals in the streams that we fish!

Sad, when I was a Boy Scout, we used to drink straight from these same (pristine at the time) streams with nary a hiccup. :(
