New Home, New Forum, Same Old WatchinTheWater

Postby WatchinTheWater » November 28th, 2008, 11:59 am

Hello All and Happy Thanksgiving,
I'm gettig settled into my Steamboat house on a more permanent basis and for the first time will have a computer and internet access at the house. Considering many of you who regularly post here friends I thought I would join the party. Winter is trying to get started but until a bit more snow arrives skiing is very limited and access to the Yampa River remains good. I hope to get on the water in the next few days before the snow and ice become an issue; I'll get a post up in the Colorado section when it happens.
Happy Fishin'
Dave

Welcome Dave! Good to see you here. Looking forward to reading more of your reports. :D
How do you tie the fly to your hooks without killing them with the thread? I keep cutting them in half.

Welcome to this forum Dave. Good group of people here (Some Bad ones to like Papa for example :D :D but guess beggers can't be choosers eh. :) ) Sorry we couldn't hook up in Yellowstone but we had a good trip even if the weather didn't cooperate. I look forward to your posts.

Dave,

Glad you're here! I'll be out in Steamboat Dec. 27-Jan. 2 this year. Hopefully the weather will cooperate, you won't be too busy and I won't hit any cows and we can go chase some fish out at Stagecoach....

Getting pumped!

Hi Dave,
Glad you made it to SB. Still not a lot of snow???? Hopefully, it will get going soon. In the mean time, I'm sure there's a few browns looking for a lip piercing. Maybe you can get up into the high country before its gets too bad.

Well, it's about time! I can finally stop using tinyurl.com to encode the links to my fishing reports here that I've been PMing to you on another forum [ahem]. 8-) So the weather is still mild there and you have to fish instead of ski, eh? Sounds like a good start to the winter season. Welcome aboard and looking forward to some Rocky Mountain reports! Jon

I could make some wiseacre remark about "Old" WatchintheWater, but that would be so unlike me.

Hope you are thoroughly enjoying your "retirement".

BTW, did you end up selling your place here?

Dave! I was wondering where you had gone to! Happy hello and welcome to this forum. Interesting people here, just be careful of what you write... we may all end up sleeping on your floor so we can get an early rise to fish the Yampa
