Ok, this place is within walking distance of my house! I have walked my dog through there many times.
Never fished it, I am looking for trophy bluegill, but don't know about spending 20 bucks to do it!
Just wondering if any of you out there have taken the time to go after the famous Utah Hook Jaw or anything else for that matter in this lake?

Apparently they also charge and extra 10 bucks if you want to float tube it! YIKES!

But regardless, they are getting the crowds.

Hey Bob,
I fished there last year and it was spendy and the extra $10 sucked.
I caught 1 3# Bow there and that was it. It was fun to be pulled around in the tube for a bit. I saw the bait dunkers getting some fish and one guy was trolling a midge and he got his limit. I didn't see anybody get any bass or 'gills
I have heard mixed reviews on the lake and last year they were stocking with big Alpers to get people to go. Just my 2c

Bob, if your going to fish that tiny pond it's best done from a float tube. I fished that small little pond a very long time ago. Not sure what it's like now, but when I did go they did stock those Utah hook jaws. The best way to get them was with black or olive zebra midges in a size 18 or 20 under a strike indicator. Find the pod of fish and you could be on the bite all day. Don't find the pod of fish and you could get skunked If you have ever fished Crowley with zebra midges it's the same type of boring fishing IMO. Just float and watch the indicator for any takes. Hope that helps.

Good luck Bob. and don't forget they will also charge you for parking. I float tubed it 4 years ago and it cost me $35.00. I didn't think it was worth it.

I was thinking of sneaking in midweek on my bike (no parking fee) and maybe hiding behind the tules so they can't see me from the bait barge!

Just curious, I am also jealous of Rayfound's new little bluegill factory!

Dean, you bring up and interesting tactic!
When I started bluegill fishing last year I was using weighted nymphs under an indicator and would get the hookups on the drop. So I started to add more weight to my nymphs thinking faster would be better, the hookup rate did not change?
Now you add a new equation to the formula, "slow down the drop"!
Next batch of PT's and HE's will not be weighted.
