Well the rain turned to snow about 8 PM on Friday. It is still snowing and we have 6-7 inches on the ground now with a projection for 18+ total from this storm. It rained all day yesterday, and we probably got at least an inch more before it turned to snow. I was off work so watched the Senate debate the bailout package on CSPAN while I tied flies. You'd think they'd join the 21st century and get electronic voting going so it wouldn't take so long for each amendment. Listening sure makes it easy to see why it takes so long to get anything out of that group. Almost all of them would be eligible for membership in BJAC. I just hope whatever they come up with works better than TARP. But I guess that isn't related to flyfishing, unless from the perspective that if you don't have a job you have to sell all your stuff so you can't flyfish..........
Anyway, the snow pack should help the streamflows immeasurably this spring. It will put fishing off for a week or so while the fish readapt to the colder water, but it's a good thing. Tie flies, build rods, catch a movie, drink beer, because "they'll be back".
