I too miss the "glory days" of this forum's past. As B said, always thankful for the friends I've connected with through this venue, but I think the "format" of traditional BB/Forums isn't as compelling for conversation as modern social platforms.
Couple that with guys (like me) who were a lot more active in other phases of life (before kids' activities and/or work travel gobbled up all the free time), and frankly just doing a lot more fishing, and without the inflows of new people the forum slowly languishes.
I think the folks that came after our core group probably scratch the fly fishing community itch with Facebook groups, Instagram, and reddit - moreso than traditional forums.
Fishing is the most wonderful thing I do in my life, barring some equally delightful unmentionables.
